Laura Schriner was born in California. She has lived in California most of her life, except for 10 years she lived in the Chicago suburbs and 5 years in the Washington DC suburbs for work. She has always been told by family and friends that she should write a book about her blind parents, so she finally listened to all the advice and wrote her first book: As I Saw It.
She is an avid hiker currently on hiatus working on her new writing hobby until she can recover from her knee injury. She has hiked all over the United States. Her most strenuous hike was the one-day 24-mile rim-to-rim hike in Grand Canyon National Park.
She has a degree in computer engineering and has worked as an engineer for almost 20 years. She has a daughter Jennifer who is a nurse and lives in the Midwest. Laura currently lives in San Diego County with her rescue cats.
